Sugar declaration
Frusano elaborates on detailed content of fructose, sucrose and sorbit of every single product.
But you have to consider that the genus "sugar" in the nutritional information is equivalent to granulated sugar. In fact it is the sum of all containing sugar types. Frusano products contain predominantly allowed sugar types like dextrose and maltose. "Sugar" is just a common term and is declared as "sucrose" in the nutrition tables.
The reasons for the mistakable choice of the term "sugar" are the laws and regulations of food declaration: If detailed nutrition information is indicated on the packaging (the so-called "BIG8"-Declaration) the sum of all sugar types are declared under the term "sugar" according to the legislative texts though the product may contain very different sugar types. Glucose, fructose, sucrose and maltose are all called "sugar" within the meaning of law. However in the nutrition tables Frusano always indicates all products with detailed information about the different sugar types. The fructose and sucrose content is listed under the subitem "sugars". The rest are glucose, maltose or longer chains of glucose-molecules. This detailed breakdown is very rare.
Allergen information (May contain traces of...)
The declaration ("May contain traces of...") means that the facilites which are used for the products also manufacture other products containing milk, nuts, etc. Despite an accurate and complex cleaning there are still tiniest traces left. It cannot be excluded completely that this dose already can cause allergic reactions by very sensitive allergy sufferers. This declaration is purely precaution and only relevant for those who already react on small contents of the indicated substances. This absolutely doesn't mean the named substances are added to the product for example as ingredients. For people with intolerance more specifically a malabsorption, for example a lactose-malabsorption, these tags are irrelevant. Please contact a doctor and/or a nutritional adviser in case of doubt.
