Spinach
Spinach - preferably freshly harvested and prepared straight away, that's when it tastes best and also has a high vitamin content. The first fresh vegetables from the field, which are available on the market from March, are particularly tender.
Spinach is not only mildly aromatic, but also healthy. Among other things, it contains plenty of vitamin A, C, folic acid, potassium, calcium and magnesium. However, the iron content is still significantly higher than that of lettuce, for example. Another advantage: spinach is very versatile. It tastes good raw, steamed, fried or in a smoothie - and has a long season in Germany, from spring to fall.
