Sorbitol

Sorbitol is an alditol (a class of polyols) and resembles fructose in its chemical structure. It is commonly used as a sugar substitute in low-calorie products, and is also used in many toothpastes. High concentrations of sorbitol are also found in some fruits, such as prunes or cherries.

Sorbitol is to be avoided if you suffer from Fructose Intolerance and, as a rule Fructose Malabsorption goes together with sorbitol intolerance.
